What is SEStran?

History of SEStran

Before December 2005, SEStran was a voluntary partnership of local authorities formed to identify, develop, implement and monitor matters of "mutual transport interest". 

On becoming a statutory body, under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005, SEStran was tasked with producing a Regional Transport Strategy for South East Scotland. 

SEStran''s  Vision

The vision of SEStran is for a regional transport system that:

"Provides all citizens of South East Scotland with a genuine choice of transport which fulfils their needs and provides travel opportunities for work and leisure on a sustainable basis."
