 Regional Cycle Network Grant Scheme

SEStran will be operating a Regional Cycle Network Grant Scheme (RCNGS) throughout financial year 2016/2017 to encourage the development of the cycle network throughout the region.

What do we fund?

The RCNGS can be used to support feasibility studies, design work, the development of infrastructure, and monitoring, as well as to support innovation and public engagement. Schemes funded by the RCNGS should ideally benefit multiple local authority areas and could include:

  • Filling in gaps between existing routes
  • Infrastructure improvement along key 'utility' routes (i.e. linking residential areas to key services such as employment, healthcare and leisure);
  • The identification and development of new utility routes;
  • Improviung cycle access and facilities at transport interchanges (rail/bus stations, park and rides)
