Date: 28th May 2012
SEStran is supporting the Tweedlove Cycling festival for the first time in 2012, as part of our drive to encourage cycling for health and as a form of sustainable transportation.
Tweedlove is a 10 day cycling event, that offers a wide range of cycling activities ranging from all–abilities rides to competitive racing and mountain biking. It is well established as a key event in the cycling calendar.
This year, SEStran is supporting the Peebles family ride, which takes place on Tuesday 29th May
SEStran Partnership Director, Alex Macaulay said:
“Tweedlove is a major fixture in the Scottish cycling calendar and provides a range of events to suit all levels of ability”.
“SEStran is supporting the family ride as part of our commitment to encouraging cycling for all. The family ride is a fun event and will suit novice riders as well as more experienced cyclists”.
“We are endeavouring to encourage cycling as a form of transportation and a healthy activity across South East Scotland. Cycling can also contribute towards reducing traffic congestion and tackling the region’s carbon footprint”.
“Tweedlove plays a major role in promoting cycling throughout the Borders and beyond and is an ideal platform for highlighting our aims.”
