Date: 13th June 2012
It’s not too late to sign up for this years’ SEStran 2 Capitals cycle ride, which has become a key event during bike week in the region.
Riders of all abilities and ages will set off from Dunfermline Glen and follow a picturesque route, taking in the Forth Road Bridge and ending to Edinburgh’s Victoria Park.
SEStran Partnership Director Alex Macaulay said:
“The SEStran Two Capitals Cycle Ride is now well established as one of the biggest all-abilities cycle events in the region and a firm favourite during bike week. Hundreds take part in the ride each year and hopefully we can set a new record in 2012”.
“If you haven’t had time to sign up, log onto the event website or just show up a bit early on the day and join in. Everyone is welcome”
“SEStran wants to encourage as many people as possible to give cycling a try, for fun, health and as a form of transport for shorter journeys. What better way to start, than on a fun day out on this beautiful route?”
Event Organiser Alan Prentice added:
“It is a great pleasure to organise yet another family cycle ride with SEStran and see lots of smiling happy faces enjoying a great days cycle.”
Tumong Edwards, Community Fundraiser for Maggie's Fife said:
“I’m really pleased that many people have registered for this fantastic family event in support of Maggie’s. On behalf of Maggie’s I’d like to wish everyone a great cycle on the day.”
Kingdom FM presenters; Darren Stenhouse, Vanessa Motion and Ali McLaren have been out regularly putting in the miles ahead of the event
OverDrive Presenter, Darren Stenhouse, said:
“This is my third year taking part in SEStran Two Capitals Cycle Ride and I love the family friendly nature of the event. It’s a day out for all levels of cyclists and the non-competitive nature ensures everyone who takes part can go at their own pace and enjoy being out in the fresh air”.
