The annual SEStran Megacycle takes place this Sunday 3rd May, marking the effective beginning of the cycling year in South East Scotland. Now in its 7th year the event is one of the biggest all-abilities rides in the region.

The Megacycle follows a 20 mile route through some of South East Scotland’s most beautiful countryside, from Penicuik down to Musselburgh racecourse. The route has been chosen to suit riders of all ages and levels of ability.

SEStran Chair Russell Imrie said:

“We’re hoping to see lots of new faces as well as old friends at this years ride; especially novice cyclists. The megacycle is an ideal event for new riders who want to have a fun day out, with some exercise into the bargain”.

“As one of South East Scotland’s best established all-abilities events the SEStran Megacycle effectively kicks of the cycling season in the region and has become a firm fixture of the May bank holiday”.

“ Vist the Megacycle website at http://www.sestran-megacycle.co.uk to book a place, or just turn up a little early and sign up on the day.”

Grease Monkey Cycles Managing Director, David Wray added :

“The 2014 Megacycle was a great success and was a fun filled cycle for everyone who took part. We at Grease Monkey Cycles are really pleased to have been involved and are hoping to see even more people at this year’s event”.
