Date: 12th May 2009
SEStran, in partnership with Fife Council, have put in place a free shuttle bus service for foot passengers seeking to travel on the Northfolk Line Rosyth-Zeebrugge ferry which will commence on Tuesday 19 May.
The shuttle bus will operate between the Rosyth Ferry Terminal, Ferry Toll Park and Ride and Inverkeithing Rail Station, linking the ferry service with the local and regional bus/rail network.
SEStran Partnership Director, Alex Macaulay said:
“SEStran believes that a direct ferry link between South East Scotland and Europe is essential to the future growth of the region’s economy. We are delighted that Norfolk Line have re-established this vital service”.
Dr Bob McLellan, Head of Transportation Services for Fife Council added:
“We believe that it is very important that there is integrated public transport access to and from the ferry. Passengers will be able to travel by foot, bike, bus, rail and car to and from the terminal en route to Europe or Scotland.”
