SEStran renews commitment to Zeebrugge ferry bus-link

SEStran’s board will consider a report that recommends continuing financial support for a free shuttle- bus service, for foot passengers seeking to travel on the Norfolk Line Rosyth-Zeebrugge ferry.

 

The shuttle, which operates between the Rosyth Ferry Terminal, Ferry Toll Park and Ride and Inverkeithing Rail Station, links the ferry service with the local and regional bus/rail network.

 The service has been funded jointly through a £6,000 grant from SEStran and equivalent funding from Fife Council.

 

SEStran Chair, Cllr Russell Imrie said:

  “The shuttle offers a convenient and sustainable service for those travelling on the Zeebrugge ferry as foot passengers, and for tourists entering Scotland to make their way quickly to their destinations. It is a good example of increasing travel choices for the public in a cost effective way”.  

Cllr Tony Martin of Fife Council added : 

"In Fife we have multi-award winning integrated transport facilities, including the rail interchanges at Markinch and Inverkeithing and the Ferrytoll Park and Ride. This bus-link is another example of how public transport is becoming an increasingly accessible and economical option for Fife's residents and visitors."
