The Regional Cycle Network Grant Scheme (RCNGS) supports active travel projects across the SEStran region, with a focus on cross-boundary infrastructure, to organisations invited to apply. The grant is provided by Sustrans Scotland from their Community Links funding and is primarily aimed at delivering projects that improve cycling infrastructure for everyday journeys.

New for 2018/19: Following changes to the guidance, design projects can now be 100% funded. Design projects are classified as anything from the preparation of a strategy to detailed design. There is a maximum of £100,000 award per application although this can be negotiable.

Applications will be expected to meet the Community Links guidance, with construction projects requiring 50% match funding. The application and assessment process aims to create a pipeline of projects with the potential for funding and provide feedback for projects to be further developed.

The focus of this call is for projects that can start and finish in the SEStran financial year 2018/19 (April to March).
