Cross Forth Ferries Project; Report on Potential Procurement Options

D&W were instructed by SEStran to advise on the procurement of two new passenger ferry services across the Forth Estuary (the “Project”). Specifically, D&W were asked to identify the procurement options available to SEStran and the relative pros and cons of each in terms of compliance with EU rules governing public procurement and the giving of State aid.

Hyder Consulting Ltd. were appointed by Fife Council, on behalf of a Steering Group comprising Fife Council, City of Edinburgh Council, Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA), SEStran and Forth Ports plc, to assess the viability of a passenger ferry service across the Forth Estuary.

Cramond Bridge Feasibility Study Final Report

JMP was commissioned by SEStran to undertake a review of reinstating a direct pedestrian and cycle link between Cramond and the Dalmeny Estate. This report draws out the findings of that review. It outlines the objectives for the enhancement, gives the findings of a review of the feasibility of a new bridge and shows how public and stakeholder consultation informed the development of options. It then considers whether a reinstated ferry service or upgrades to existing routes could contribute to objectives.

Newcraighall Study; Feasibility Study for Footpath/Cyclepath

Colin Buchanan was commissioned by SEStran to undertake a feasibility study into a potential footpath/cyclepath across the railway line to the south side of Newcraighall Rail Station.

This feasibility study has set out to examine the potential for providing a new route between Newcraighall Station and QMU by way of the existing railway bridge at the A1 to the south of the station’s platform. The study also examined the potential levels of use for such a route.

Regional Parking Management Strategy Final Report

In September 2007, Atkins was appointed by SEStran to undertake the development of a management parking strategy that should give a general guidance to its constituent authorities to manage parking to the benefit of residents, visitors and business users and discourage commuter parking in line with National and Regional Transport Strategy (RTS) policies.

This report has been produced in order to deliver a strategy that will provide an element of consistency in parking management to similar towns and locations within the SEStran area.

Levenmourth Sustainable Transport Study STAG Part 1 Appraisal Report & Appendices

South East Scotland Transport Partnership (SEStran) appointed Scott Wilson to carry out a STAG–based study to appraise proposals for improving services to the Levenmouth area.

This report sets out the results of a STAG Part 1 Appraisal of potential opportunities for increasing public transport provision in the Levenmouth area.
