This report sets out how SEStran is addressing its responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010. It summarises the progress made in mainstreaming equality and our progress in achieving the Equalities Outcome we identified in 2017 and demonstrates progress and continued commitment to developing and embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in culture and behaviours and as a fundamental part of our day to day business and decision making.
The Scottish Regional Transport Partnerships have been included in the schedule of the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010. The act requires annual publication of certain information and this report advises the Board of the information to be published.
The business plan will coordinate delivery of travel and transport projects over the next 12 months and work to get more partners “on board” with the proposed key priorities for the South East of Scotland’s transport network. Whether that’s walking, delivering goods, getting on your bus or bike, catching the train or driving your car and sharing your journey with others.
Over the next year, we are aiming to continue our journey towards making the South East of Scotland transport network as efficient, effective and equitable as possible and deliver a sustainable transport vision for the region. To do this SEStran will focus on our existing projects and partners including Transport Scotland, Sustrans, Cycling Scotland and Young Scot. The current focus does not preclude SEStran from exploring new opportunities and SEStran will always welcome discussions with new or returning partners.
